Description
JIM BUTTON tells the story of a boy’s attempts to free a beautiful princess from a dragon’s claws, thus embodying one of the classic themes of the world of fairy tales. Starting out from the basic framework of the story as told in the book, the JIM BUTTON animated series takes its audience on a fantastic journey into the heart of an enchanted world in which dragons, giants, pirates and all sorts of legendary creatures meet up. Unlike the image of heroes that so many cartoon series present, Jim and Luke are no muscle-bound super-heroes armed to the teeth, but ordinary people just like you and me, guided by common sense and prone to all kinds of emotions. This vision of heroism offers young TV viewers a marvelous figure with which to identify. If Jim, a poor little orphan, can defeat a dragon and rescue a princess, why should not they be able to “make it” in a grown-ups’ world? What the Jim Button series conveys is a certain “philosophy of life,” a humanistic, optimistic vision of the world around us.
